-They enter with humility and respect.
-They must gesture to the master drummer as to ask for the permission to dance.
-They need to acknowledge their elders, then they are able to dance.
-The right foot usually moves forward on the strong beat trailed by the left on the next beat.
-Legs are usually faced forward in a normal walking position.
-It is acceptable here to move the upper torso left and right.
The meaning behind their movements
- A dancer facing the drummers with the left pal, supporting the right elbow with the right arm raised high, means: "I promise you, the drummers, a drink."
- The palm supporting a tilted head or chin denote grief.
- A dancer who shakes her head from side to side shows her disapproval
- Biting the right thumb or right forefinger indicates a sign of pain ad forgetfulness.
- Hooked forefingers in front of the body means, "I am in love with you" or "We were one"
- When a dancer points the right hand or both hands skywards, she is saying, " I look to God"
